Its strategic aim over the planning period 2003/4 to 2006/7 and beyond is to help create the conditions whereby the member institutions, as well as the University's central academic units and services, realise their full potential and achieve national and international academic excellence.In support of its mission, the University will actively pursue the following objectives:
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
To foster learning through research-informed teaching and assessment of high international standing.
Research and Postgraduate Teaching
To advance and disseminate knowledge through scholarship, research and postgraduate teaching of high international standing.
Community Service
To apply knowledge, research findings and cultural, scientific and physical resources for the benefit of local, national and international communities.
Student Support
To maintain and where necessary improve the quality of the university experience and the supportive environment in which students live and work.
Staff Support
To recruit, foster and retain staff of high international caliber and provide a quality and supportive staff environment.
Partnership with Moi University
To demonstrate commitment to partnership with Moi University, by fulfilling SMA's Treaty with Moi University obligations and acting in a manner consistent with the Articles and spirit of the Treaty.
Management
To manage the University's resources effectively, efficiently and responsibly.
