Application and upon acceptance payment:

Applications are submitted with a non-refundable application fee of kshs 5,500 together with required documents as per the application guide. If the application is accepted an acceptance letter is issued. To accept this offer upon acceptance payment is required of a full semester tuition fee.

Tuition fees:

Tuition fees is payable either monthly or quarterly. If payments become overdue, the Academy reserves the right to suspend or cancel tuition and to charge interest on the balance at the rate of 8% above the base rate of Stanbic bank per month or part thereof. Fees remain payable if notice of withdrawal has not been given in accordance with these conditions.

Academic Criteria

Students who do not meet Academy's criteria for English will be expected to take an appropriate English Language course at the College.

Students are accepted to the Academy on the strict understanding that progression through the course is conditional upon satisfactory attendance and successful attainment of prescribed performance targets. Students are assessed at the end of every Block seminar. The assessments will take into consideration:

Students who do not attain the minimum criteria will not proceed with their original course but will be offered an alternative course or invited to withdraw from the Academy without a refund.

Cancellation

The following charges apply for programs cancelled before commencement after receiving the confirmation letter:

Cancellation fee

• First week of classes – 100%
• second week of classes – 75%
• third week of classes – 50%
• fourth week of classes – 25%
• thereafter – 0%

Cancellation will be accepted only in writing and the period of cancellation only applies from the date upon which the Academy receives the written notice of cancellation.

Withdrawal

Once the programs has commenced, a minimum of 9 weeks in writing is required or payment in lieu, whether or not the student continues to attend classes.

If cancellation or withdrawal is due to refusal of a Visa for International students a less notice is accepted with the refusal note. The deposit in this case is fully refundable. If it is due to sickness the student may resume classes in the next block seminar and attend classes of the missed block seminar at a later date.

Expulsion

The admission of a student is on conditional acceptance of these terms and Rules and Regulations set out by the Academy. While every effort will be made to inform parents or guardians about serious breaches of Academy rules, the Dean may at his/her discretion suspend or expel the student. The Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct is unsatisfactory, at the discretion of the Dean whose decision is final. No refund of fees in cases of suspension/expulsion and any invoiced but unpaid fees is payable immediately.

General

Students who transfer to SMA Swiss Management Academy Kenya from other colleges must be aware that these conditions apply.

Payments

All fees are payable to the Academy by Cheque or bank transfers. The Academy does not accept cash payments except the application fee, which is either payable by Cheque or Cash. The Academy does not undertake to send reminders for fees.

Refunds

Refunds will only be made to the person responsible for the fees either by Cheque or Account transfer. Refunds will be made within 30 days after calculating any damages or disbursements due, or any incidental charges.

Breakages, loss and damage

Students are responsible for any breakages, loss and damage to the Academy property. The Academy reserves the right to recover costs of damage from the student.

Publicity and Public relations

Students and their parents or guardians agree that student photographs, achievements, testimonials may be used for promotional purposes without written consent or notification
